The SYNTEL System
The ultimate addressable detector network, based on the industry standard LonWorks protocol. The protected ring topology, the use of distributed processing and galvanic isolated sections are all elements of a network suited for high reliability applications.
Features
The SYNTEL System represents the optimal synthesis between power, user-friendliness, reliability and evolutionary capacities in gas and flame detection.
The SYNTEL System is a safety system which integrates gas and flame detection as well as the whole management of the instrumentation detectors. The alarm management is implemented thanks to an open and secured configuration. The supervision offers functions of zoning and voting with a user-friendly ergonomy.
The intrinsic qualities of this addressable network, along with patented secured innovations make this solution much more reliable than an analog gas detection central unit.
Study and engineering implementation and extension opportunity of the network guarantee a very economical and attractive system, thanks to wiring and operating cost savings.
Very high level of safety
- Distributed intelligence protocol where each sensor interacts with output modules.
- Safety ring topology with a single cable for reduced costs.
Open system
- Integration and control of analog and digital signals.
- LonWorks gateway.
- Connections with supervision systems, SCADA, automatons.
- Flexible configuration with implementation tools.
- Exploitation software for complete and easy-to-use maintenance.
Application
- Storage of explosive materials, oil, chemical, pharmaceutical products, aerosols...
- Storage and use of toxic and chemical materials, pharmaceutical products, cold chains...
- Petrochemical, nuclear industries and agrobusiness, gas transportation and storage terminals, drilling platforms...
Specification
Each equipment is able to control its own field of competences
- Powerful digital network secured by Simtronics sets the communication methods between devices.
- Exchanges between devices are spontaneous, with no need of any bus Master, talk and ring.
- Exchanges follow the Producers/Consumers model. The one which produces information (detector) diffuses it instantaneously to the consumers (relays, supervisor).
- This model establishes the distributed intelligence. There is no need of any master to orchestrate or to assist the exchanges between subscribers of the network.
The system is resistant to an aggression of the cable, cut or short-circuit
- The system does not have a common mode. Thanks to its architecture with distributed intelligence, there is no central equipment whose breakdown would cause a halt to the system.
- Communications are secured. Exchanges with acknowledgement of receipt, redundancy of messages by periodic signals of life, protocol with prediction algorithm of collision.
- The power supplies are redundant in standard.
- The Syntel System is secured thanks to its loop technology and to its technologic intakes (patents).
Segmentation of the network in protected sections
- Automatic mechanism of messages resumption in case of media rupture.
- Possiblility to make all the functions redundant.
High performance system
Maximum distance between two devices : 800 meters.
Single loop capacity : 120 devices.
Theoretical maximum length of a loop : 120 X 800m = 96 km.
Typical response time between a detection and a relay activation : 0,5 sec.
Used band-width : 60 messages per second.
Use of the network, open source, LonworksTM of the ECHELON company
This choice enables the compatibility with all the LonMark's equipments and systems.
Communication
- CML - MODBUS communication coupler. To be placed in any point of the loop.
- MECH - Input module for other sensors. Adapts any sensor, unit or fire-fighting loop to the Syntel-System®.
- OPC - Data server to supervisors. OPC is the standard of communication for Industry (OLE for the process control).
- The protocols DDE and NetDDE are also available.
3rd generation of configuration tool
- The system is delivered with a complete configuration tool. It enables to establish the link between subscribers of the network, to define operations of the system (logic, zoning, voting, identification), to make an open installation.
- Tool for diagnosis, SYNTEL Platform enables to supervise, to log and to maintain the system.
- The interactive HMI enables to establish detailed diagnostics and to manage the replacement of devices in default.
Remote maintenance
SIMTRONICS can maintain your sites by remote control. A service contract covers the assistance to diagnosis and to curative maintenance, remote management of evolutions, and the software updating.
