Simtronics signs maintenance contract with CERN
Following deliveries of advanced gas detection systems to CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research), Simtronics is awarded a 3-year preventive maintenance contract worth NOK 2,4 million
[27.09.2007]Simtronics has supplied gas detection equipment to CERN for more than 15 years. The latest deliveries are installed in the largest particle accelerator in the world, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, to be put into operation in May 2008
The total installation contains more than 350 modules and more than 1 000 detectors, detecting hydrocarbon gases (methabutane, isobutane, pentane and CO2) at very low levels, as well as oxygen, aragonite, helium, freon and other gases. The systems are specially designed for this kind of applications and respond to a very high level of safety requirements.
These systems give an excellent demonstration of synergies between Simtronics' manufacturing plants in France and Norway, where the combined expertise and product ranges have been put into full value
This first preventive maintenance contract is valid for 3 years, with optional extension to 5 years.
